<reviewbody>Spare no effort to obtain this show, it's bitchin'. The Samson is unreal. The boys sneak their way into it like a lion stalking it's prey through the tall Savannah grass. Makes my hair stand on end every time, and then during the second jam, THEY POUNCE! Bruce is just pounding the hell out of the keys, and everyone else follows his lead. It's smokin', and so is the rest of the show. Don't be fooled by the fact that set 2 looks like a set 1. This show delivers the goods.</reviewbody>

    <reviewbody>Hi everyone.
This show is one of the best shows in the early 90's. High energy from begining to end... the band is definitely on and the recording is obviously awesome! I always found it intersting how the second set looks like a first set, but boy do they smoke... Bruce up there with the boys gets everything fired up!

<reviewbody>This is one of the best "Bruce" shows, period! The energy is this one never goes away. Bruce is all over the place and the set list is quite interesting. A lot of people say 8/16 is better because of the 1st set Dark Star and Scarlet > Victim > Fire, but I think this show is much hotter. Hornsby just kicks ass this show. I also love how he extends the BIODTL.
Deal > Samson > Half Step > Stranger to open 2nd set? Insane. This show is priceless!!</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>Sure I love this show as it was my 1st at Shoreline, on the 1st day after I moved to N. Cal, but bottom line was it was a great Bruce night. 2nd set was especially cool as they avoided doing any repeats from the entire 6 night (starting at Expo) run.

Really all 3 nights of this run are nice esp the 16th, but don't pass this one up</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>If you dig Hornsby, then take a listen. He's all over the 3 nights and the band benefits. Love this run. Plus I love a good pissing match between jerry and Bobby trumping each other for tunes. In this case jer totally pulls the Throwing stones rug out from under weir and opts for GDRFB.</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>IMHO, this is without a doubt the best night of this shoreline run (and possibly the expo run before this). From the Train to Cry to the blown start on BIODTL (which leaves Weir and the crowd laughing out loud) to one of the most bizarre second sets in terms of song choice (including two back to back Garcia numbers out of space!!), this show is great both on paper and in terms of performance. Sound quality is top notch. The boys nailed this night.</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>This review is based on these songs that fit into a CD: Hell, Jack Roe, BIODTL, Master, Stranger, Space, China, GDTRFB, Stones, Fade Away. So sorry but I am not as enthusiastic as everyone else about this concert. Please don't send the Dead Police. BIODTL has a humorous start and a sloppy end. In Masterpiece, Weir and Garcia are coming to a great harmonic ending then Weir holds the note longer than Jerry, almost like he was trying to outdo him, which I am sure he was not. There is a lot of empty space at the end of the first four songs on my CD. China Doll is very good. After China Doll Weir starts into Throwing Stones but Jerry overrides him with GDTRFB. Overall volume is a little light and Jerry's volume is a little light. Piano is present and very good at times. Jerry plays flute again. Everything is OK and listenable. In my view, for that period, better choices would be 9/10/91 and 9/22/91.

When I got home from listening to this on my walk/run, disappointed, I looked to see where the concert was played and thought no wonder. Soreline Amphitheater, Mtn. View, CA. I live 20 miles from there, saw them around 5 times at
that venue. I never saw them in the seated area, always the lawn, a very steep undanceable lawn, always had a good time, but never walked away thinking "that was a great concert.” I wouldn't put any Shoreline in my top half, unlike the
great Greek Theatre in Berkeley or Frost Amphitheatre at Standford, great venues with great concerts.

As I am writing this I am listening again and have come to the final conclusion that this is worth the download if you have the time, but I am putting it into the "for mellow listening times category", not "for rocking out" category.
I was going to give it 3 stars but now my final decision, until I listen to it next time, is 4 stars. Sorry, can’t join the rest of the crowd with a five star and if you click on my name you will see my other four reviews up to this point are all five starts. Elvis is on his own here. That is why you will come to learn over time by reading his (my, for those that aren't following this) reviews that he is The King.</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>There was a certain feel of being "home" and @ ease during these late summer runs at the Shoreline. Laid~back delight , met Rickie Lee Jones walking thru the crowd told her i loved her and gave her a hug....i think that Jerry's good friend and artist Rick Griffin was was killed on his Harley up on highway 101 during this run ....CC Rider, Jerry & co saying goodbye to a dear friend .

Time overtakes us all on any highway...guess Rick was much better an artist than he was a Harley rider , and met his untimely end, up on that narrow coast road we all so loved.

<< said see, see, see rider
Oh, see what you have done
I said see, see, see rider
Oh, see what you have done now

Well, I'm going away, baby
And I won't be back till fall >>></reviewbody>

<reviewbody>I was at this show and it really was sweet. It still stings however. I ran into old friends from highschool, which was cool as hell. A random guy made me a cool "china doll" before the show (he was making things of clay), put it on my blanket and then when I got up and danced with my old HS frends when china doll actually was played the guy got mad at me and squished the china doll he had made me- then goin down the road feeling bad :( It was such a bittersweet show. Lots of fun though. The whole series was great. Wow, I just registered to take a stroll down memory lane and it is quite a stroll. (if you, the clay guy, is reading this, I'm sorry for whatever I did, you meant alot to me, really)</reviewbody>
